Overview
Provides consecutive/simultaneous interpretation into Dari/Pashto from English and into English from Dari/Pashto for meetings, workshops, and the taking of confidential statements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides consecutive/simultaneous interpretation into Dari/Pashto from English and into English from Dari/Pashto for meetings involving IIMA staff members and their interlocutors, including senior management and high-ranking officials.
- Provides consecutive/simultaneous interpretation into Dari/Pashto from English and into English from Dari/Pashto for the taking of confidential and sensitive statements for criminal justice purposes.
- May check verbatim records of meetings services.
- Contributes to the collection and analysis of data and provides draft insights.
- Completes translation work assigned by the Supervisor where there are no interpretation tasks.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Required Experience
A minimum of 2 years of professional interpreting and translating experience in international organizations is required. Experience interpreting witness interviews is desirable. Experience interpreting Dari/Pashti is desirable. Experience working in a criminal justice context is desirable.
Qualifications
A first-level degree from a university or an institution of equivalent status is required.
