Overview
Research consultant to promote corporate responsibility to respect migrant workers’ rights in line with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and submit an approved research design, including methodology and stakeholder identification.
- Submit an approved first draft of the research output based on data gathering and analysis.
- Complete the validation process with stakeholders.
- Submit a finalized research report with policy recommendations.
Required Experience
- Minimum of seven years of relevant professional experience with a bachelor’s degree, or at least five years of relevant professional experience with an advanced/graduate degree.
- Previous experience in grievance management and resolution and/or in conducting research on this topic, particularly in cases involving international labour migration, is preferred.
- Advanced understanding of internationally recognized frameworks and standards on human and labour rights, particularly relevant principles on the right to remedy.
- Substantial understanding of internationally recognized frameworks on business and human rights, including human rights due diligence.
- In-depth knowledge of the laws, policies and cross-cutting issues in Philippine labour migration.
Qualifications
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in public policy, law, social science, business management, labour relations, international relations, international development, migration studies or related courses, or an advanced/graduate degree.
