Overview

The Psychiatrist provides specialized psychiatric services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and medication management, to conflict-affected and vulnerable populations as part of an integrated humanitarian health program.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized psychiatric consultations and treatment.
  • Assess clients' specific needs and develop individualized case management strategies.
  • Promote physical and mental health and well-being through home visits and group activities.
  • Provide basic medical consultations and treatment when necessary.
  • Support the project's Pharmacist in the management of pharmaceuticals.
  • Effectively manage emergency cases and make appropriate referrals.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of services.
  • Participate in supervision meetings.
  • Participate in emergency response activities.
  • Participate in field missions to remote communities.
  • Share timely, accurate, and relevant information with communities.
  • Facilitate community participation in programs.
  • Establish or promote formal feedback mechanisms.
Required Experience

A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in psychiatry, including clinical and/or community-based practice. Previous experience working in health programmes and with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) is an asset. Knowledge of and experience in clinical supervision, training, and/or coaching of healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Medicine with specialization in Psychiatry.
