Overview

The Protection Officer will support the management, coordination, and oversight of the Country Office’s Protection Programme activities and strategies, contributing to the design and implementation of protection programming.


Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to Protection programming and provide technical support on Protection Mainstreaming.
  • Support the development and implementation of Protection programming by exercising administrative, operational, and financial management.
  • Coordinate and implement activities within the Protection portfolio, including contributing to SOPs and internal guidelines.
  • Contribute to establishing and expanding relationships with UN Agencies, humanitarian organizations, government, and community interlocutors.
  • Contribute to the timely and quality preparation and submission of Programme reports.
  • Contribute to the establishment of a common Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) framework.
  • Provide technical support in the production of visibility/communications materials.
  • Participate in relevant donor or partner meetings, briefings, and conferences.
  • Undertake regular visits to Sub-Offices to support Protection programme implementation.
Required Experience
  • Two years of relevant professional experience with a Master's degree, or four years of relevant professional experience with a University degree.
  • Experience in programme development and capacity-building activities.
  • Experience in liaising with governmental and diplomatic authorities as well as with national and international institutions.
  • Experience in organizing consultations, workshops, and seminars with high-level stakeholders.
Qualifications

Master's degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, International Relations, Political Science, Humanitarian Affairs, Economic Development or a related field from an accredited academic institution, or University degree in the above fields.

Languages Required
Fluency in English and Spanish is required (oral and written).
Languages Preferred
Working knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, and Russian) is an advantage.
