Laboratory Technician

Overview

Motivated and hands-on Laboratory Technicians are sought to join an international team in Karlsruhe, contributing to experimental activities in post-irradiation examination of nuclear fuel and characterization of legacy waste.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical support to laboratory colleagues.
• Contribute to the development of new experimental set-ups.
• Support the preparation and execution of experiments focused on the mechanical properties of irradiated fuel and cladding.
• Collaborate with the workshop to bring experimental designs to life.
• Ensure necessary preparations are in place for experiments.
• Help maintain a safe, well-organized, and efficient laboratory environment, including waste management.
• Maintain and improve hot-cell equipment and laboratory instruments within the area of responsibility.

Required Experience

At least one year of hands-on experience in a technical or laboratory setting. Experience working in a radioprotection-controlled area would be considered an asset.

Qualifications

A level of post-secondary education attested by a diploma, or a level of secondary education attested by a diploma giving access to post-secondary education and appropriate professional experience of at least three years, or where justified in the interest of the service, professional training or professional experience of an equivalent level.
