Overview

Coordinate the planning, implementation, and monitoring of a project at the national level in South Africa, focusing on strengthening pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response through a One Health Approach.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate the overall execution of the Pandemic Fund Project in South Africa.
  • Develop project workplans and implementation schedules.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders including government departments, UN implementing entities, and delivery partners.
  • Facilitate regular project meetings and organize Steering Committee meetings.
  • Present project progress updates and prepare periodic progress reports.
  • Manage project budgets and oversee contractual arrangements.
  • Supervise project affiliate personnel.
  • Prepare and submit timely project reports, including financial reports.
  • Engage with various stakeholders to foster collaboration.
  • Monitor implementation progress and project risks.
  • Coordinate exchange lessons-learned and insights.
  • Prepare comprehensive workshop reports.
  • Coordinate country missions in support of the project.
  • Undertake other relevant tasks as mutually agreed.
Required Experience
  • 5 years of relevant experience in Animal Health or Production and Health.
  • Proven experience in FAO's project development, management and execution.
Qualifications

University Degree in Agriculture (Animal Health/Production)
