Overview
The National Project Officer (Reparations and Transitional Justice) will support and coordinate the development, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of activities under Pillar II of the LE&TJ Unit, contributing to the reparations and transitional justice strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational guidance and technical monitoring to Pillar II.
- Coordinate the overall implementation of the Pillar II portfolio.
- Collaborate with the Pillar I technical lead on intersecting areas.
- Supervise, guide, and support Pillar II pin-holders and project support staff.
- Support the monitoring and progress of project implementation.
- Promote and contribute to the integration of gender, protection, human rights, survivor-centred practice.
- Support the elaboration and dissemination of reports for donors, government, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Identify potential areas for project development and contribute to new project development.
- Liaise with government entities, implementing partners, United Nations agencies, civil society organizations, donors, and other stakeholders.
- Organize and deliver capacity-building activities.
- Participate in relevant conferences, working groups, workshops, and steering committees.
- Undertake duty travel as required.
Required Experience
- Master’s degree with two years of relevant professional experience; or University degree with four years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience in transitional justice, reparations, rule of law, access to justice, or protection programming, preferably in a post-conflict or humanitarian setting.
- Experience in project cycle management, including implementation, monitoring, reporting, and budget oversight.
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national and international institutions, United Nations agencies, and non-governmental organizations.
- Experience in working with survivors, victims of conflict-related violations, internally displaced persons, returnees, and other vulnerable groups.
- Experience in supervising or guiding staff and in supporting capacity-building processes is an advantage.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Law, Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Human Rights, Transitional Justice, Development Studies, Migration Studies, or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or University degree in the above fields.
