Overview

The European Commission is seeking a Secretary to provide administrative support to the Directorate-General for Trade and Economic Security, Unit TRADE.F2. The role involves assisting with case handling, organizing meetings, and managing contacts.


Key Responsibilities
  • Providing administrative support to the unit’s tasks.
  • Supporting the Foreign Direct Investment screening team with case handling tasks.
  • Managing the manual of procedures, monitoring the FDI Functional Mailbox, Temporary Repository submissions to and from Member States, FDI tracker and registration of FDI cases in ARES.
  • Monitoring F2 Secretariat and ACI Functional Mailbox.
  • Providing support with organising Outbound expert group meetings and managing contacts with the group.
Required Experience
  • Work experience in the EU institutions and a familiarity with working methods is an advantage.
  • Appropriate professional experience of at least three years if holding a secondary education diploma.
Qualifications

A level of post-secondary education attested by a diploma, OR a level of secondary education attested by a diploma giving access to post-secondary education.

Other Details
Languages Required
• Have a thorough knowledge (minimum level C1) of one of the 24 official languages of the EU • AND a satisfactory knowledge (minimum level B2) of a second official language of the EU, to the extent necessary for the performance of the duties.
Languages Preferred
Familiarity with EU trade policy is an advantage.
Contract Duration
The duration of the 1st contract will be up to 4 years. The contract might then be extended only once for a maximum of 2 years.

Remuneration
The pay of staff members consists of a basic salary supplemented with specific allowances, including, where applicable, expatriation and family allowances.
