Overview
Supervise and coordinate group mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) activities for children and caregivers in Gaza, ensuring alignment with program guidelines and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily guidance and monitoring of community workers for MHPSS activities.
- Conduct support and supervision visits to group MHPSS activities.
- Ensure CP activities, meetings, referrals and documentation happen in a safe, timely and quality manner.
- Support the identification of separated children and those at risk of harm.
- Receive referrals and ensure integration into CP activities.
- Refer children and caregivers with specialized needs to relevant services.
- Ensure accurate recording and reporting of registers.
- Lead recruitment and training of community workers.
- Lead on the implementation of risk reduction activities.
- Review comments from suggestion boxes and feedback mechanisms.
- Ensure respect for children’s participation and consultation.
- Support MEAL activities and contribute to data collection.
- Ensure regular interaction with community members.
- Communicate regularly with the CP Manager for updates.
- Assist in performance monitoring of partners.
- Supervise and train community workers, providing capacity building.
- Ensure timely completion and submission of attendance trackers/timesheets.
- Maintain open and professional relations with team members.
- Lead and coordinate planning and reporting of CP-MHPSS activities.
- Prepare and submit weekly activity work plans and reports.
- File and archive important documents.
- Support implementation of and adherence with CP and MEAL plans.
- Coordinate with staff from other IRC sectors.
- Develop, coordinate, maintain and strengthen relationships with partners.
- Develop and maintain relationships with relevant local actors.
- Participate in relevant coordination meetings.
- Collaborate with organizations and partners.
- Attend trainings organized by the IRC.
- Stay informed about the child protection situation.
- Monitor the safety and security of field teams.
- Promote and adhere to IRC principles, objectives and code of conduct.
- Provide translation and interpretation at meetings, training sessions and/or documents if necessary.
- Assist identifying new implementing partners and arrange meetings.
- Conduct any other task requested by supervisor.
Required Experience
At least 3-4 years’ experience in implementing child protection programs, preferably in the field of MHPSS programming for children, parenting programs for caregivers, and CP risk reduction in humanitarian or development settings. Demonstrated understanding of working with children affected by conflict, disasters or other humanitarian crises, particularly unaccompanied and separated children and children at-risk of violence, exploitation, abuse or neglect. Previous experience supervising and coordinating a team preferred. Previous experience in capacity building and mentoring preferred. Previous experience in emergency response preferred.
Qualifications
Degree desired in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Human Rights, Social Science, Humanities or other related field.
