Overview
Provides technical supervision to Protection Case Workers and Protection Officers - WPE to ensure essential support for vulnerable women and girls, including GBV survivors, is provided according to survivor-centered principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Reinforce adherence to GBV guiding principles and survivor-centered support.
- Act as a focal point for WPE technical guidance.
- Ensure support for women and adolescent girls adheres to best-practice principles.
- Align with PSEA policies and procedures.
- Directly supervise, mentor, and support Protection Case Workers and Protection Officers - WPE.
- Hold daily planning and debriefing sessions with staff.
- Mentor and support staff professional development.
- Identify training needs and support training facilitation.
- Design activities responding to needs and priorities of women and adolescent girls.
- Prepare and maintain detailed work plans.
- Develop and support implementation of service mapping and quality audits.
- Conduct regular field visits to support activity implementation.
- Give guidance on safe, confidential, and timely referrals.
- Ensure team adherence to GBV referral pathways.
- Ensure quality referrals between Health and Child Protection teams.
- Ensure accurate and timely use of data collection and reporting tools.
- Monitor daily/weekly data collection for safe and ethical management.
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly work plans.
- Compile weekly data and narrative activity reports.
- Ensure accurate completion and submission of administrative documentation.
- Identify concerns related to GBV referral protocols and report to manager.
- Maintain effective working relationships with relevant partners.
- Represent the IRC WPE team in camp-based coordination forums.
- Build positive connections with adolescent girls, parents/careers, and communities.
- Conduct community outreach and engagement activities.
- Inform adolescent girls and guardians about available services.
- Promote and participate in team engagement initiatives.
- Foster ongoing learning, dialogue, and reflection.
Required Experience
- At least 3 years of experience in Gender, GBV.
- Experience in GBV with a specific focus in supporting women and girl survivors of male violence.
- Experience in supervising GBV staff – highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for clients all times is essential.
- Experience facilitating trainings and workshops and mentoring others.
- Familiarity with principles of monitoring and evaluation.
- Experience in writing brief narrative reports.
Qualifications
- Education in women’ studies, social work, social sciences, other relevant field or work experience.
- Degrees in psychology, gender or women’s studies, social work or other relevant/related studies, and /or professional experience in counselling and implementing activities for women and girls or proven engagement in women’s rights/groups – desirable, not essential.
