Overview
The Senior Project Officer provides technical and operational leadership for refugee education initiatives, supporting planning, monitoring, reporting, and implementation of project interventions. The role focuses on coaching staff, liaising with local education partners, and using evidence to drive program quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide inputs for planning and reporting on Thai Language teaching, curriculum mapping and alignment, and capacity building.
- Ensure adherence to project compliance requirements.
- Support the planning cycle for education activities.
- Participate in team meetings providing updates and proposing solutions.
- Support partners in the effective implementation of education activities.
- Engage and co-ordinate with Education Advisor on training modules and curriculum alignment.
- Work with project officers and education team to support consultants.
- Troubleshoot and help resolve education issues.
- Conduct regular Thai language classroom teaching observations.
- Review education activity reports.
- Support MEAL team during field monitoring visits.
- Collaborate with partners to ensure timely reporting and payments.
- Provide administrative and coordination support to partners.
- Undertake regular monitoring of education services.
- Support the design and delivery of additional training, coaching, and resources for partner staff.
- Represent Save the Children in camps.
- Support the stipend distribution process.
- Contribute to quarterly financial planning and budget phasing.
- Ensure proper management of cash advances.
- Develop and maintain monthly work plans.
- Ensure camp partners are informed and prepared for visits.
- Participate actively in monthly team meetings.
- Participate or represent in Education Sector Committee (ESC) or other Committee for Coordination of Services to Displaced Persons in Thailand (CCSDPT) Work Group (WG) meetings.
Required Experience
Five years professional working experience, development sector preferred. At least 5-7 years professional working experience in development education program. At least 3 years classroom teaching experience. Experience in child safeguarding and protection in schools desirable. Experience working in low resource context desirable. Experience in delivering education in emergency desirable.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferably in relevant qualification in Education. Bachelor’s degree in teaching, learning and education.
