Overview

The Programme Analyst (Technical Projects) will support the implementation of the Periferia Viva Program in Santo André, Brazil, ensuring technical, administrative, and management activities meet project objectives.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical advice and support for project activities.
  • Support municipal government in actions related to the Periferia Viva program.
  • Participate in local meetings.
  • Coordinate the implementation of the project’s work programme.
  • Maintain communication with counterparts and local partners.
  • Perform technical, administrative, and management activities.
  • Provide support for the technical review of engineering and architecture project documents.
  • Develop technical documents with architectural and engineering design guidelines.
  • Provide information for the systematization and exchange of successful practices.
  • Conduct technical activities to ensure project deadlines and objectives are met.
  • Provide inputs for risk identification and mitigation.
  • Attend meetings and conferences.
  • Document expert group meetings, forums, consultations, training events, and other activities.
  • Prepare reports to partners and internal reports.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.
  • Participate in missions as requested.
  • Complete indicated courses and training activities.
  • Comply with United Nations security mechanisms.
Required Experience
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience with interventions in peripheral territories in Brazil, including slum upgrading projects, is required.
  • Experience with sustainable urban development projects is desirable.
  • Previous experience within or with the United Nations System is desirable.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Urbanism, Civil Engineering or related fields is required.
  • Postgraduate degree (Lato Sensu or Stricto Sensu) in Civil Engineering, Architecture and Urbanism, Urban Planning, Territorial Planning and Management or related fields is required, or additional four (4) years of relevant experience to the post, beyond the requirement.

Fluency in Portuguese is required.
Languages Preferred
Working knowledge of English and Spanish is desirable.
Contract Duration
Three (3) months, with possibility of extension
