Overview
The consultant will coordinate information management activities under the Displacement Management Cluster, support assessments and analytical products, and provide GIS and data management support.
Key Responsibilities
- Support with assessments of displaced and disaster-affected populations.
- Support the development of tools, data collection, and analysis.
- Support the development and visualization of output products.
- Ensure the dissemination and adaptation of information management tools.
- Provide sector-specific maps and graphics.
- Ensure application of appropriate information technology for partner lists and archiving.
- Provide information outputs in the local language wherever feasible.
- Ensure adequate monitoring mechanisms are in place.
- Ensure adequate reporting and effective information sharing amongst all partners.
- Develop and maintain Cluster reporting formats.
- Promote use of and training on reporting tools.
- Oversee field operations when necessary.
- Provide administrative and logistical support as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience
Minimum of 4 years of work experience with developmental organizations. Experience with the United Nations, particularly IOM, and/or other international organizations will be considered an advantage. Experience in information management, data collection, reporting, coordination, and analysis of data from large information systems is required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in urban and regional planning, information technology, statistics, geographical sciences, and any other relevant field. Candidates with professional diploma in disaster management in addition to the above requirements will be given priority.
