Overview

The MHPSS Officer will contribute to the formulation of work plans and ensure the integration of MHPSS priorities in programme delivery. This role involves establishing relationships with stakeholders, coordinating needs assessments, and supporting the implementation of MHPSS interventions.


Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the formulation of work plans and integration of MHPSS priorities.
  • Establish relationships and collaborations with key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and support MHPSS needs assessments.
  • Contribute to identifying information needed for communities related to MHPSS awareness.
  • Conduct/update MHPSS service mappings and establish referral pathways.
  • Review and contextualize MHPSS intervention packages.
  • Provide supportive supervision to MHPSS Counsellors.
  • Contribute to developing monitoring plans for the MHPSS portfolio.
  • Participate in local MHPSS coordination platforms.
  • Train, coach, and support Health & Nutrition teams in integrating MHPSS dimensions.
  • Design, plan, and contribute to implementing mental health promotion activities.
  • Act as a Safeguarding ambassador.
  • Ensure awareness materials on local reporting mechanisms are visible.
  • Collaborate to provide safeguarding briefings.
Required Experience

Minimum of 3 years of experience in mental health & psychosocial support (MHPSS) field in the humanitarian context. Experience in working with NGO or INGO will be preferred. Experience with refugee/marginalized communities desired.

Qualifications

A university degree in psychology or MD.

Excellent written and oral communication skills in Dari/Pashto depending on location.
