Overview

This role provides technical support for the implementation of climate-resilient value chain strategies, including gender and commercialization approaches, for rural smallholder farmers.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide general technical support for the implementation of climate-resilient value chain strategies.
  • Offer technical support for project activities such as training, workshops, technical visits, stakeholder consultations, and exchange visits.
  • Organize meetings with grassroots organizations and producers.
  • Assist in implementing training and technical assistance processes for value chain strengthening.
  • Monitor technical procedures, climate change management, and natural resource restoration.
  • Assist in the implementation of projects and the technical monitoring of sub-grant agreements.
  • Maintain project documentation and technical reports.
  • Control the use of non-expendable equipment and maintain regular contact with project technicians.
  • Draft correspondence and documents, and coordinate appointments.
  • Provide support for operational and administrative activities.
  • Collect and systematize information for report preparation.
  • Support project indicator monitoring.
  • Document lessons learned related to climate-resilient value chains.
  • Support the preparation of technical documents such as modules and methodological guides.
  • Support capacity building activities, including the design and delivery of tools and materials for workshops.
  • Support the dissemination and exchange of relevant data and lessons learned.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 4 years (with Secondary Education) or 1 year (with Bachelor's degree) of relevant work experience with international institutions/organizations in:
  • Rural development projects, with an emphasis on agricultural value chains.
  • Technical assistance to smallholder banana producers.
Qualifications
  • Secondary Education (High School level) is required.
  • University studies (Undergraduate level) in Agronomic Engineering will be given due consideration, but is not a requirement.
