Overview
The Field Animal Health Specialist will support the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of animal health and livestock activities, conduct field assessments, and provide technical guidance on animal husbandry practices and disease surveillance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of animal health and livestock activities.
- Conduct field assessments, identify animal health priorities, and support disease surveillance, vaccination campaigns, outbreak investigations, and emergency response.
- Promote good animal husbandry practices, biosecurity, animal welfare, antimicrobial stewardship, and the One Health approach.
- Organize and deliver training and capacity-building activities for various stakeholders.
- Coordinate with veterinary authorities and other stakeholders.
- Monitor field activities, collect and analyze data, and prepare technical reports.
- Contribute to the preparation of work plans and technical documents.
- Support the organization of technical meetings and workshops.
Required Experience
At least 5 years of experience in sustainable animal health and livestock activities.
Qualifications
University degree in veterinary sciences, animal health and related fields.
