Overview
The Senior Repatriation Assistant supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of voluntary repatriation activities. The role ensures the follow-up of complex cases, liaises with partners and authorities, and contributes to operational analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Interview candidates for voluntary repatriation and ensure informed decisions on returns.
- Assist in proposing documents and ensuring refugees are provided with appropriate documentation.
- Facilitate UNHCR's access and communication to/with individuals and communities of concern, including through translation and cultural mediation.
- Participate in mass information activities about the voluntary repatriation programme.
- Provide logistics and administrative support to voluntary repatriation border-crossing/return movements.
- Assist in assessing specific needs of vulnerable returnees and advise on responses.
- Advise senior colleagues on which individuals to register for further return processing.
- Enter information on voluntary repatriation into available databases.
- Support the identification and management of risks and opportunities impacting objectives.
Required Experience
2 years relevant experience with High School Diploma; or 1 year relevant work experience with Bachelor or equivalent or higher.
Qualifications
Certificates and/or Licenses: International Law, International relation, Political science or other relevant field.
