Overview

The Senior Project Associate - Legal Identity will support the planning, coordination, and implementation of legal identity activities for migrants in Costa Rica, aiming to facilitate access to regular migration status and integration opportunities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate the implementation of project activities related to legal identity.
  • Monitor implementation to ensure adherence to plans and recommend adjustments.
  • Research, compile, analyze, and present information on national, regional, and international developments related to legal identity.
  • Monitor budget expenditures and coordinate financial, administrative, and technical aspects of the project.
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct capacity-building workshops on legal identity.
  • Maintain liaison and coordination with local authorities, partners, UN agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the preparation of correspondence, briefing notes, presentations, and reports.
  • Identify and document good practices and lessons learned, contributing to SOPs and concept papers.
  • Supervise and provide guidance and training to reporting staff.
Required Experience
  • Five years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or a related field; or seven years of relevant professional experience with a High School diploma.
  • Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organisations.
  • Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups.
  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organisations, non-government or government institutions/organisation in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or High School diploma.
