Overview
The Officer- Protection is responsible for supervising and supporting the implementation of prevention activities related to Child Protection and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) interventions, including community-based protection activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising and supporting the implementation of prevention activities related to Child Protection and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) interventions.
- Managing and supervising Officer-Social Work, Officer – Case Work, Community Mobilizers, Cleaners and Guards.
- Leading community engagement initiatives, women's and adolescent groups, awareness sessions on CP, GBV and protection issues, psychosocial support activities and Supervision of Case Management.
- Capacity building, coordination, and strengthening referral pathways.
- Coordination with partner organisations, with the provision of technical support.
Required Experience
- At least 3 years’ experience within a development organisation, and at least two years’ experience in a management position.
- Experience in running recreational and psychosocial activities for children and familiar with community-based approaches to GBV and case management systems.
- Experience in interviewing, collecting data and reporting on child protection work.
- Experience in documenting, preserving quantitative and qualitative data.
- Experience in providing/ facilitating training, meeting.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline such as social science, anthropology or development studies or any other relevant department.
