Overview

The Senior Officer – Protection is responsible for leading integrated protection programming at field level, ensuring effective implementation, coordination, quality assurance and operational oversight of Child Protection, Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and General Protection interventions.


Key Responsibilities
  • Leading integrated protection programming at field level.
  • Ensuring effective implementation, coordination, quality assurance and operational oversight of Child Protection, Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and General Protection interventions.
  • Strengthening both prevention and response components of protection programming through integrated case management, protection risk mitigation, community-based protection mechanisms, referrals, safeguarding compliance, and inter-agency coordination.
  • Providing direct operational leadership to multi-functional protection teams.
  • Ensuring protection interventions are survivor-centered, age-sensitive, gender-responsive, disability-inclusive, and aligned with humanitarian protection principles and international minimum standards.
  • Supporting protection mainstreaming across sectors.
  • Strengthening accountability to affected populations (AAP).
  • Monitoring protection risks and trends.
  • Representing Save the Children in field-level protection coordination forums and external engagements.
  • Working closely with Child Protection, GBV, General Protection, MEAL, Safeguarding, MHPSS, Education, Health, and Camp Management actors to ensure integrated and quality protection services.
Required Experience

At least 3 years’ experience within a development organisation, and at least two years’ experience in a management position. Experience working in child protection programmes. Experience in interviewing and reporting on development works. Experience in documenting, analysing and summarising qualitative data. Experience in providing/ facilitating training, meeting.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline such as social science, anthropology or development studies or any other relevant department.
