Overview

This position is responsible for providing overall leadership and management for Area Programs (AP) in accordance with relevant strategies and organization policies. The role ensures the quality of ministry by managing and coordinating staff, and developing cooperation with partners.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement AP Annual Operating Plan, including budget, P&C and key AP milestones.
  • Coordinate revision of plans and budgets.
  • Ensure programs and projects integrate disaster management and advocacy.
  • Ensure cross-cutting themes such as gender equity, Christian commitment, peace building, environment and protection are integrated.
  • Prepare AP budget and funding requests.
  • Ensure effective strategic, operational and administrative coordination between all projects.
  • Identify funding gaps.
  • Approve AP expenditures.
  • Ensure capacity building of all program staff.
  • Develop dynamic organizational culture for AP.
  • Share lessons learned.
  • Ensure capacity building with partners.
  • Ensure capacity assessment and development for staffs and partners.
  • Ensure Partnership / National Sponsorship standards are met.
  • Submit core reports with completeness, quality and timeliness.
  • Follow-Up Audit Reports.
  • Ensure DME enables program and projects to make a defined and measurable contribution.
  • Ensure DME processes and products are in alignment with LEAP standards.
  • Prepare and negotiate “Project Charter”.
  • Ensure monitoring system and tools are developed and used.
  • Ensure compliance with sponsorship standards.
  • Manage AP’s assets and resources.
  • Ensure maintenance of office equipment, vehicles and other assets.
  • Monitor the security situation in an AP.
  • Ensure staff understand and follow the WV safeguarding policy.
  • Ensure development monitoring system with partners.
  • Lead the advocacy process.
  • Ensure social accountability mechanism.
  • Maintain accountable relationship of representing support function.
  • Represent the Organization to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement a plan to form, facilitate and manage effective relationships and networks with various development partners.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with key partners.
  • Develop robust networks and excellent relationships at AP level with Government and other institutions.
  • Involve support office partners in key events/milestones.
  • Work intensively with partners.
  • Coordinate and host visits of sponsors, donors, and WV staff.
  • Live in or as close to the program communities as possible.
  • Facilitate and lead spiritual nurture activities for team members.
  • Create enabling and positive team environment.
  • Facilitate effective teamwork, coordination and work planning.
  • Ensure AP is adequately resourced with empowered and qualified staff.
  • Develop appropriate organizational chart, JDs and performance goals.
  • Manage staff retention, workload and orientation.
  • Ensure all staff understand and implement the Anti-Fraud Policy.
  • Lead the change management of AP.
  • Provide leadership for all aspects of disaster response as needed.
  • Ensure all implementations are carried out and risks are effectively managed.
Required Experience

Minimum of 5 years Coordinator experience in Programme/project with a thorough understanding of all areas of project management cycles. Demonstrated track record in proposal development, funding acquisitions and grant management for major government donors preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies, Business Administration, Rural development, social studies or any related field. Complete Project Management for NGO course.
