Area Manager Venezuela

Overview

Responsible for ensuring high quality and effective programme/project implementation in areas affected by earthquakes. This includes line management, needs assessment, emergency response development, and overall management of the Area Office.

Key Responsibilities

• Line management responsibilities for directly reporting staff, including performance management, workforce planning, recruitment, induction, and development.
• Assess needs, develop and implement emergency response, and ensure optimal use of resources.
• Overall responsibility of managing the Area Office, ensuring internal structure in programmes and support functions.
• Responsible for overall staff security and safety, including completing security risk assessments.
• Ensure the implementation of all projects and programmes active in the area in line with NRC´s standards and donors’ requirements.

Required Experience

Minimum 3-5 years of experience working as a Senior Project Manager / field manager / area manager in a humanitarian context. Previous experience working in emergency response especially with start-up phase. Previous experience in complex and volatile contexts. Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities. Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile. Experience in capacity building and development of management teams. Experience leading large teams and managing personnel with favourable results. Knowledge/experience in strategic direction, budget planning and management, and project management. Experience working with donors and/or cooperation agencies. Previous experience in Latin America is a plus.

Qualifications

University degree in Social Sciences, Economic Sciences and Administration or similar.
