Overview
The Court Clerk (G-4) role involves implementing scheduling and preparation of hearings, organizing courtrooms, assisting during hearings, and maintaining evidence material.
Key Responsibilities
- Implements scheduling and preparation of hearings;
- Organises courtrooms prior to hearings;
- Assists the ALO/CO during hearings;
- Assists the ALO/CO in the maintenance of the evidence material;
- Creates and maintains statistics;
- Suggests changes to the SOPs related to court clerk duties and implement them accordingly;
- Maintains multiple chain of custody forms and consultation request records;
- Audits the vault content and vault database;
- Stores and retrieves evidence, audio visual material and other items when required;
- Organises dry cleaning of robes and bibs, maintains the record of robes issued and returned.
Required Experience
A minimum of four years of relevant work experience in a judicial organisation or legal setting, of which at least two years should be devoted to the management of legal records. Experience in legal proceedings and procedural requirements pertaining to evidence is required.
Qualifications
Diploma of secondary education.
