Overview

The Associate Programme Management Officer, Administration, P2 role supports the Human Security Unit in administrative coordination, budget and finance, and programme analysis and support.


Key Responsibilities
  • Serves as a focal point for administrative coordination of HSU activities, including operational travel, monitoring accounts, vendor payments, space planning, and office technology needs.
  • Drafts correspondence to respond to inquiries and inform stakeholders on financial, budget, and programme matters.
  • Coordinates budget and funding activities for UNTFHS programmes, preparing related documents and reports.
  • Supports the Finance and Budget Officer in monitoring expenditures, preparing adjustments, and implementing the cost plan.
  • Assists in the preparation of Umoja Master Data, transactions, reports, and Power BI dashboards.
  • Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes/projects, monitoring progress and identifying issues.
  • Conducts basic research on programmes, operations, and activities, collecting and analyzing data.
  • Maintains programme files and databases, assisting in data review and analysis.
  • Provides administrative and substantive support to meetings and conferences.
Required Experience

A minimum of two years of experience in administration, budget and financial management, project or programme management, or related area is required. No experience is required for candidates who have passed the United Nations Young Professionals Programme Examination (YPP), the United Nations National Competitive Recruitment Examination (NCRE) or the General Service to Professional Examination (G to P). Experience with Microsoft PowerBI as well as other MS Office applications is desirable.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent degree) in business administration, public administration, finance, management, political science, development studies, information technology or a related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A first-level university degree and no experience will be accepted for candidates who have passed the Young Professional Programme Examination (YPP), the United Nations National Competitive Recruitment Examination (NCRE) or the General Service to Professional Examination (G to P).
