Overview

This internship focuses on exploring generative AI tools for data processing and information management tasks, including data analysis, report design, and application development.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assists in exploring the use of generative AI tools (e.g., large language models) to support data processing, automation, and information management tasks.
  • Carries out statistical analysis of data sets and prepare infographics and Power Point presentations.
  • Designs and implements data-driven reports and dashboards using Ms Power BI.
  • Develop data collection applications using Microsoft O365 suite - Sharepoint, PowerApps, Flow (Power Automate) and Ms SQL.
  • Supports the development of simple prototypes or proof‑of‑concept applications that incorporate generative AI capabilities along with CPAS technical team
  • Help develop technical documentation, guidance on tools and procedures on data collection and data visualization tools.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

Qualifications

Applicants at the time of application must meet one of the following requirements: (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent). Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master's or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor's, Master's or PH.D. Programme. Proficient in standard word processing and software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint or similar; Be proficient in standard office automation equipment, scanner, printer, etc.). Have demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the United Nations Charter. Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views

Languages Required
Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of an additional UN language is an asset.

Remuneration
The internship is UNPAID. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
