Overview

Support the implementation and quality of individual protection assistance and case management activities by providing technical guidance to case management staff. The role will support the implementation of protection programming and ensure quality case management services for vulnerable migrants.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of protection case management activities for migrants and other vulnerable populations.
  • Support the timely identification, assessment, referral, and follow-up of individuals with protection needs.
  • Provide technical guidance and capacity-building to case workers, protection assistants, and implementing partners.
  • Support the management of complex protection cases.
  • Contribute to strengthening referral pathways and maintain effective coordination with service providers.
  • Contribute to the development and revision of case management tools, SOPs, and protection guidance materials.
  • Support protection assessments, monitoring activities, and analysis of protection trends and risks.
  • Prepare reports, briefing notes, and other technical documents related to protection activities.
  • Participate in relevant protection coordination meetings and working groups.
  • Promote adherence to IOM protection principles, confidentiality standards, and data protection requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance on key thematic areas.
  • Contribute to the timely submission of project reports and support the implementation of relevant M&E frameworks.
  • Support the development of project visibility and communications materials.
  • Undertake frequent travel duties, as required.
  • Perform such other duties, as may be assigned.
Required Experience
  • Two years of relevant professional experience with a Master's degree, or four years of relevant professional experience with a University degree.
  • Good experience in Global Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (GAVRR) programmes.
  • Experience in protection programming, humanitarian assistance, migration management, or case management.
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, including victims of trafficking, migrants at risk, and survivors of violence.
  • Experience coordinating with governmental institutions, UN agencies, and NGO's.
  • Demonstrated experience in report writing, programme monitoring, and capacity-building activities.
  • Experience conducting capacity building on protection mainstreaming principles for various stakeholders.
Qualifications

Master’s degree in Humanitarian Affairs, Political Science, Law, Human Rights, Development Studies, or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or University degree in the above fields.

Fluency in English and French is required (oral and written).
Languages Preferred
Working knowledge of another official UN languages (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, and Spanish) is an advantage.
