Overview
Provide leadership to resource mobilisation and new business development efforts for the Rwanda and Burundi Country Office, including developing and implementing a funding strategy and donor engagement plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the development and implementation of a robust country office funding strategy and donor engagement plans.
- Identifying, developing and maintaining key and strategic donors and other funding and non-funding partners relationships.
- Leading and managing programme and proposal development processes.
- Ensuring NBD best practices, processes tools and trainings are embedded.
- Externally engaged and highly involved in prepositioning and capture planning for high value and strategic funding opportunities.
- Providing overall leadership on strategic portfolio planning, analysis, management reporting and key decision making.
- Tracking existing and upcoming opportunities.
- Analyzing and leading strategic portfolio management conversations.
- Identifying, researching, and disseminating information on new funding opportunities.
- Cultivating business relationships with external stakeholders and potential partners.
- Analyzing information about SC, the donor, and competitors for specific opportunities.
- Overseeing and coordinating the Proposal Development Processes.
- Undertaking quality assurance of donor proposals.
- Supporting on-the-job skills development for colleagues on NBD.
- Maintaining strong knowledge management systems.
- Leading NBD related recruitments and creating a safe and sound working environment.
Required Experience
- 5+ years demonstrated experience identifying and securing funding from major government donors, multilateral agencies, corporate donors and/or foundations.
- A minimum of five years management in either development or emergency contexts, preferably with solid experience in more than one of the Save the Children International priority sectors: education, child protection, rights governance, health and nutrition, and emergencies.
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating and facilitating the development of major proposals to institutional donors.
- Experience in project and change management related to organisational development projects and international, cross-functional teams with a proven history of delivering results.
Qualifications
University degree (minimum bachelor’s degree) preferably in social or development studies, human rights, resource and entrepreneurship development, project management or in any other field of relevance to development and humanitarian response.
