The Head of Office, Bamako, Mali, TA P4 will lead the Mali Country Office on an interim basis, primarily accountable and reporting to the UN Women West and Central Africa Regional Director. The role involves leading the development of the new Country Strategic Note and ensuring continuity of operations.
At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience combining strategic and managerial leadership in development cooperation at the national and international level is required. Experience in gender and women's issues programming at the international level, preferably within the UN system, is required. Field-based experience working with multi-cultural teams, including leading and coaching staff, is required. Experience leading or contributing to the development of a Strategic Note, UNSDCF, or comparable strategic planning document is required.
Master's degree or equivalent in development-related disciplines, economics, public policy or other social science fields is required; A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree; A project/programme management certification (such as PMP®, PRINCE2® or MSP®) is an added advantage.
