Child Protection and MHPSS Officer

Overview

This role focuses on project coordination within a humanitarian organization, emphasizing child well-being and transformational development. The position involves team leadership, relationship building with partners, project management, and program design, monitoring, and evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

• Model Christian leadership and facilitate a positive working environment.
• Build staff capacity through coaching, mentoring, and personal development plans.
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with government institutions and development partners.
• Represent the organization in technical working groups.
• Facilitate teamwork, coordination, and work planning.
• Support the integration of DRR and WASH programming.
• Coordinate and network to secure technical resources.
• Develop Terms of Reference (TOR) and manage logistics and finance for activities.
• Monitor project spending against budget and report variances.
• Provide training and coaching on Transformational Development (TD) Principles.
• Support the completion of project designs and DME processes.
• Ensure monitoring systems and tools are developed and used.
• Coordinate revisions of plans and budgets.
• Write and submit draft Project Semi-Annual and Annual Reports.
• Provide strategic leadership to the annual Programmed Quality Self-Review process.
• Engage with government and churches for sustainability and scaling up.
• Assist in humanitarian emergency disaster management.

Required Experience

A minimum of two years of appropriate professional experience in Child Health, DRR, and Climate Change Adaptation. Demonstrated experience in project design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and report writing. Proven leadership ability and experience as a team.

Qualifications

University degree in a relevant technical field (e.g. Public Health, Development Studies, Philosophy & Social Science and Humanity).
