Driver/Conductor
Overview
To carry out driving assignments in a safe and timely manner, complying with UN road safety and security standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate vehicles to transport authorized personnel, materials, and general cargo.
- Deliver and collect parcels, correspondence, documents, and other items.
- Receive and escort official personnel and visitors, including airport pickup and drop-off.
- Maintain professional communication with stakeholders.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Perform minor vehicle repairs and coordinate servicing.
- Ensure assigned vehicles are clean and properly equipped.
- Provide VIP transportation services and standby driver support.
- Promptly report any vehicle damage, accidents, incidents, or loss of equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of fuel consumption, mileage, and maintenance.
- Ensure all required organizational, legal, and insurance procedures are followed in case of an accident.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience
A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the provision of professional driver services is required. Experience in operating a wide range of vehicle types is required, including light passenger vehicles, sedans, heavy and light 4x4 sport utility vehicles (SUVs), ambulances, pick-up trucks, cargo vans, and passenger vans is required. Experience in driving armoured vehicles is desirable. Relevant experience within the United Nations common system or other comparable international organizations is desirable.
Qualifications
A valid driving license with a safe driving record is required. Technical certifications in road safety, defensive driving, first aid, and/or Colombian transport regulations are desirable.
