Intern - Human Rights

Overview

Internship supporting the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in its mission to protect human rights. The role may focus on human rights and migration, climate change and environment, early warning, communication, and public information.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze human rights developments and trends in South-East Asia.
• Research and draft internal and external notes and reports.
• Prepare daily news updates on the human rights situation in the region.
• Support engagement with UN human rights mechanisms.
• Assist with the organization of workshops and seminars.
• Maintain and develop information and resource tools and update website information.
• Participate and take notes in meetings/conferences.
• Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.

Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualifications

Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master's or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor's, Master's or PH.D. Programme.
