Overview
The role of Coordinator - Project Portfolio Management Office is responsible for following project-related matters at any stage of the project lifecycle, monitoring portfolio progress, and resolving issues that may compromise delivery and benefits realization of INTERPOL projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Improve resource allocation and effective deployment of Organization's resources.
- Coordinate project management competency enhancement.
- Advise business units on project/programme team composition and capacity planning.
- Ensure standardization of requirements and duties for project management staff.
- Deliver training on project management processes.
- Establish and monitor implementation of Project Management Policy, Guidelines, Templates, Specific Policies/Rules.
- Foster a project culture in the Organization.
- Ensure the Project Management templates and specific policies/rules are updated.
- Provide guidance and awareness-building to business units on the application of the Project Management Policy and Guidelines.
- Deliver training and awareness-building sessions on matters related to PPMO.
- Coordinate legal and contractual aspects with the legal office and procurement office.
- Strengthen synergies with other INTERPOL corporate functions.
- Accompany specific project initiation, planning and development.
- Support the implementation of high-level monitoring and evaluation/closing exercises and reports.
- Identify improvements to the portfolio management practices.
- Coordinate portfolio prioritization exercises.
- Undertake regular portfolio-level reviews to assess progress and produce reports.
- Provide support to populate project/programme information.
- Provide support in the overall development and implementation of the unit's activities.
- Produce key content on major portfolio documents.
- Review project/programme documents ensuring compliance with Project Management Policy and Guidelines.
- Accompany project teams, through project initiation, planning, revision and closure.
- Provide advice, assessments and recommendations to senior management.
- Develop new projects when the need arises.
- Monitor planning and high-level delivery.
- Conduct evaluations of INTERPOL projects.
- Facilitate effective collaboration of project/programme contributors.
- Promote a results-based approach for monitoring and evaluation.
- Support senior management to capture lessons learnt from projects.
- Review audit, programme evaluations, and/or results-oriented monitoring (ROM) observations and drafts appropriate responses.
- Support the Assistant Director in the continuous development of the Sub-Directorate.
- Represent the Sub-Directorate at external events, conferences and meetings.
- Perform all other functions, duties, and responsibilities that may be necessary.
Required Experience
A minimum of 5 years' experience in law enforcement agencies or National Central Bureau, with exposure to project-management related matters. Experience in planning and managing complex tasks with minimum supervision. Experience working in an international or multicultural environment would be an asset. Experience in legal aspects of policing would be an asset.
Qualifications
Three-to-four years' education at an accredited University or other specialized higher education establishment in a relevant field. Certification in the field of project management, e.g. PRINCE 2 or PMP certification is an asset.
