Overview
UNICEF Nicaragua seeks to establish a roster of pre-selected consultants specialized in Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) and Infrastructure to provide technical assistance at the national level.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical assistance in WASH and infrastructure, support in formulation, design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programs and interventions in the WASH sector, including potable water, sanitation, hygiene in schools and health facilities, infrastructure design and construction, climate change adaptation, water resource management, humanitarian response, and coordination.
Required Experience
At least three years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas: water, sanitation, and hygiene programs; water resource management; infrastructure system design; infrastructure construction, rehabilitation, or supervision; community development; climate change adaptation; risk management; humanitarian preparedness and response; institutional strengthening; management and strengthening of Water and Sanitation Committees (CAPS) and/or community networks; WASH in schools and health facilities; development of diagnostics, evaluations, and technical studies; inter-institutional coordination with national and local governments. Previous experience in projects funded by international organizations and UN agencies is an advantage.
Qualifications
University degree in one or more of the following areas: Civil Engineering, Sanitary Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Architecture, Water Resources Engineering, Hydrology Engineering, Public Health, Rural Development, or Social Sciences linked to community development. Postgraduate studies, specialization, or master's degree in WASH, public and/or social investment project management, infrastructure, climate change adaptation, sustainable water resource management, environmental management, rural development, community resilience, and disaster risk reduction will be valued.
