Policy Officer

Overview

Policy Officer role within DG MENA of the European Commission, focusing on private sector engagement and investments in the Mediterranean region.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the implementation of DG MENA’s Private Sector Engagement Strategy and related financial instruments.
• Contribute to sector analysis and other thematic analyses.
• Contribute to definition of private sector investment strategies.
• Contribute to the policy dialogue with partner countries, donors and other relevant stakeholders.
• Contribute to the assessment and selection of proposals concerning investments and private sector support.
• Manage contracts related to private sector investment under the framework of EU financial instruments.
• Monitor the private sector strategy implementation in DG MENA.
• Maintain regular contacts with the Commission Delegations in DG MENA countries.
• Ensure good and effective contacts with all relevant stakeholders.
• Assist Commission representatives in relevant donor and other stakeholder meetings.
• Facilitate and contribute to steering of seminars, workshops and other stakeholder meetings.
• Contribute to the organisation of network meetings.
• Correctly apply the Commission's document management rules.

Required Experience

• Job-Related experience of at least 3 years is essential.
• Knowledge of EU financial instruments and knowledge and experience in the EU external assistance and project management would be an asset.
• Work experience in developing countries (incl. in EU delegation) would be an asset.

Qualifications

Have a level of education which corresponds to completed university studies of at least three years attested by a diploma.
