Overview
The Assistant Programme Management Officer will participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of assigned programmes/projects, monitor their progress, and provide substantive support for meetings and outreach activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of assigned programmes/projects.
- Monitor and analyze programme/project development and implementation.
- Review relevant documents and reports; identify problems and issues and propose corrective actions.
- Act as Certifying Officer for requisitions related to COBOL administration.
- Act as supervisor of the COBOL operations team.
- Act as Security Liaison Officer for UMOJA role requisitions.
- Research, analyze, and present information gathered from diverse sources.
- Assist in policy development, including review and analysis of issues and trends.
- Undertake survey initiatives; design data collection tools; review, analyze, and interpret responses.
- Prepare various written outputs, e.g., draft background papers, analysis, sections of reports and studies.
- Provide substantive support to consultative and other meetings, conferences, etc.
- Undertake outreach activities; conduct training workshops, seminars, etc.; make presentations.
- Participate in or lead field missions.
- Coordinate activities related to budget and funding.
- Collect and analyze data to identify trends or patterns and provide insights.
- Oversee and coordinate the implementation of UNODC projects in Bolivia.
- Document requirements and background information used for data analysis.
- Support resource mobilization efforts.
- Perform other work-related duties as required.
Required Experience
A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible work experience in project or programme management, administration, or a related area is required. No experience needed with an advanced university degree in a relevant field. Work experience within the United Nations system or a similar international organization is desirable. Work experience in resource mobilization and donor relations is desirable. Work experience in financial management, budget planning and monitoring, financial reporting, procurement, and administrative support is desirable. Work experience in team coordination and supervision is desirable. Experience in data analytics, research and visualization is desirable.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business or public administration, management, project management, or a related field is required. A first-level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Successful completion of secondary education programs in data analytics, business analytics, data science, or innovation programs is desirable.
