Overview
The Associate Information Analyst assists in developing research and analysis strategies to identify relevant evidence for criminal accountability and supports judicial support activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists in the development of research and analysis strategies and conducts research to identify relevant evidence in the IIIM repository and open-source information.
- Gathers, collects, evaluates and analyzes information to determine relevance and gaps and to inform decisions relating to judicial support activities.
- Organizes and synthesizes relevant information and evidence, including through the use of analytical software(s).
- Maintains and updates IIIM's internal databases and uses information management evidence processes and electronic information systems to classify, manage, store and transfer information.
- Participates in briefings and conferences with other members of the IIIM, as well as with actors external to the IIIM.
Required Experience
A minimum of two years of progressively responsible work experience in information analysis in the context of criminal investigations, international humanitarian law or human rights, or in the context of the Middle East or North Africa region is required. Work experience using analytical software is desirable. Prior analytical work experience in relation to the Syrian conflict is desirable. Prior analytical work experience with an accountability institution at the national or international level is desirable.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent degree) in criminology, law, Middle Eastern studies, conflict or security studies, international relations, human rights or criminal law, political/social science or related fields is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
