Overview
The Programme Management Officer will implement UNEP FI's strategy to mainstream nature in financial institutions and support resource mobilization for nature finance. The role involves overseeing the development, implementation, and communication of the nature work programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement UNEP FI's strategy to mainstream nature in financial institutions.
- Support resource mobilization for nature finance.
- Support implementation of UNEP FI and UNEP governance processes for the nature work programme.
- Oversee the development, implementation and communication on the nature work programme.
- Ensure the integrity and quality of outputs and oversee the delivery of guidance and resources.
- Contribute to the development of guidance for PRB and PSI implementation.
- Oversee nature-related content/materials for awareness raising and capacity building.
- Lead and manage UNEP FI's Nature Team.
- Establish and evolve the Nature Team's structure.
- Develop an agile process for ongoing learning and innovation.
- Manage the Nature budget and nature-specific resources.
- Provide HR planning and performance management for the Nature Team.
- Coordinate with admin and communications colleagues.
- Support science-based nature-related policy and regulatory engagement.
- Collect and analyze data to identify trends or patterns and provide insights.
Required Experience
A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, nature, environment, sustainable development or related area is required. Experiences in connecting financial work with environmental and social considerations are desirable. Skills in developing work programs for a variety of private or public stakeholders are desirable. A minimum of two (2) years or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in business administration, management, economics combined with one of the following: environment, sustainable development or a related field. A first-level university degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) with two (2) additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is desirable.
