Overview
Provide technical assistance in financial, budget, and reporting management of EU funded projects to IOM Regional and Country Offices worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance on EU funding related financial and administrative subjects.
- Provide general technical information on finance matters and contractual conditions related to EU funded projects.
- Review budget and financial reports for EU projects.
- Monitor budget consumption of EU centrally funded projects.
- Update and maintain EU funded project database with financial and contractual data.
- Contribute to maintaining proper internal controls.
- Support external verification/ audit exercises announced by the EU Institutions.
- Provide recommendations to enhance EU funded projects budget and financial reporting functions.
- Prepare request for payment for EU centrally signed projects.
- Assist in the organization of training activities and preparation of materials concerning EU regulations and financial management.
- Deliver EU funding related trainings as assigned.
- Contribute to the Unit’s knowledge management.
- Participate in internal and external meetings.
- Undertake duty travel for monitoring and capacity building missions.
Required Experience
Minimum one year experience with EU funding instruments and contractual aspects, financial management and reporting of EU funded projects. Knowledge of functioning of EU funding under ECHO, DG INPA, DG NEAR, DG HOME and/or, in general, EU funding mechanisms supporting actions in line with IOM’s mandate, is a distinct advantage. Minimum one year of proven experience in field audit activities is an advantage.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Commerce or related field from an accredited academic institution with at least three years of relevant professional experience; OR Completed High School degree with at least five years of relevant professional experience.
