Migration Data and Information Management Officer (P)
Overview
The Migration Data and Information Management Officer will contribute to strengthening mission-wide migration data and information management functions. The role supports the design and implementation of data collection methodologies, quality assurance, reporting frameworks, analytical products, and information management systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, consolidation, and standardization of migration and displacement data.
- Conduct regular data quality checks and validation processes.
- Analyse primary and secondary migration and displacement data and develop analytical reports, dashboards, and trend analyses.
- Provide training and capacity-building sessions for staff and partners.
- Coordinate the effective use of mission data systems.
- Coordinate with government counterparts, the RO, Headquarters and relevant partners.
- Develop relevant information management and analytical products.
- Provide technical and thematic guidance on the use of migration and protection data.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
Required Experience
Master’s degree with two years of relevant experience; or University degree with four years of relevant professional experience. Experience managing multi-source migration and displacement data collection systems and datasets. Excellent qualitative and quantitative data analysis skills. Experience in information management work, particularly on data verification, validation, standardization and quality assurance. Understanding of migration governance and data work in both humanitarian and non-humanitarian settings. Experience working on migration and displacement issues. Proven ability to deliver technical trainings and build data literacy. Strong understanding of data management issues, reporting frameworks, and SOP development. Experience coordinating with government counterparts, regional/HQ offices, and inter-agency partners on data and policy alignment.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Science, Information Management, Statistics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Political Science, International Relations, Migration Studies, Law, or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or University degree in the above fields.
