Overview
The Supply Chain Associate will be responsible for managing procurement and logistics functions within the Dominican Republic Country Office, ensuring compliance with IOM instructions and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and consolidate procurement requisition forms, verifying completeness and obtaining necessary information.
- Assist supervisors with complex, higher-value purchases.
- Prepare tender documents, solicit bids, prepare bid analysis summaries, and support the evaluation process.
- Monitor open requisitions and follow up on timely delivery of goods and services.
- Review vendor invoices, prepare payment requests, and coordinate timely payments.
- Create and maintain physical and electronic records of procurement documentation.
- Conduct market surveys to identify and evaluate potential new suppliers.
- Track contractual agreements and inform concerned parties for timely renewal.
- Monitor office supplies and service needs, preparing requisitions and coordinating utility payments.
- Provide briefing and technical guidance to staff on procurement instructions and procedures.
- Perform supply chain tasks related to property and asset management, warehousing, insurance, maintenance, and transportation.
- Coordinate fleet operations activities, including vehicle schedules, logbooks, and maintenance.
- Provide training and guidance to junior SCM staff, monitoring their development.
Required Experience
- Three years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field; or five years of relevant professional experience with a High School diploma.
- Experience in procurement and logistics and working with vendors and service providers;
- Experience with asset management process;
- Experience working with IOM/UN Procurement and Logistics Rules and Procedures is an advantage;
- Experience working in an international organisation an advantage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or High School diploma.
- Certification in Procurement, Logistics or Supply Chain Management is an advantage.
