Migration Health Physician.

Overview

Provide high-quality medical services within the Migration Health Assessment Centre, supporting daily operations and ensuring efficient, timely, and client-centered service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct Migration Health Assessment activities for refugees and immigrants.
• Provide medical assistance to migrant beneficiaries.
• Coordinate medical referrals and follow up on treatment progress.
• Support medical services in governmental health/medical facilities.
• Identify and advocate for special health needs of individuals/groups.
• Contribute to strengthening and monitoring mechanisms for quality health services.
• Undertake health needs assessments of the migrant population.
• Highlight and ensure presentation of psychosocial needs and protection issues.
• Monitor completion of pre-departure medical checks and assist with Voluntary Humanitarian Return (VHR) medical procedures.
• Conduct health promotion activities for migrants and host communities.
• Liaise with Community leaders and networks on migrant needs and health concerns.
• Assist in coordination of medical equipment and supplies.
• Review services from a gender perspective and make recommendations.
• Assist in conducting medical convoys and basic medical services in the field.
• Contribute to provision of sessions within IBG, particularly life-saving activities.
• Write, consolidate, and submit individual case reports, monthly progress reports, and statistical reports.
• Represent IOM in health sector meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Intervene in medical emergencies throughout the day.
• Respond to emergency calls throughout the day.

Required Experience

• Minimum two years of continuous clinical work experience.
• Proven experience in community outreach and dialogue.
• Practical monitoring and evaluation experience.
• Experience working in Emergency situations, with emergency cases.
• Fully proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Internet, PowerPoint and Email.

Qualifications

• University Degree in Medicine from an accredited institution.
• Master’s degree in general medicine/Emergency Medicine, Gynecology and obstetrics, Anesthesiology, Endocrinology specialists’ advantage inclusive experience in Emergency Room or Intensive Care Center.
