Migration Health Nurse

Overview

Support the daily operations of the Migration Health Assessment Centre by providing high-quality nursing services throughout the migration health assessment process.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily nursing activities for Migration Health Assessments, including medical examinations, specimen collection, vaccinations, TB management, treatment support, referrals, documentation, and pre-departure health procedures.
• Conduct routine nursing assessments, including measuring vital signs, height, weight, and visual acuity.
• Collect blood, urine, sputum, and other specimens.
• Support laboratory, radiology, vaccination, and tuberculosis management activities.
• Provide migrants with information and counselling regarding the migration health assessment process and health-related issues.
• Ensure accurate applicant identification, medical history collection, documentation, and data entry.
• Maintain compliance with Health Assessment Programme (HAP) SOPs, quality standards, infection prevention and control measures, and universal precautions.
• Maintain and monitor pharmacy supplies, medical consumables, and clinical stock.
• Assist in preparing reports, statistics, and programme updates.
• Support mobile health assessment missions and other field activities.
• Assist with pre-departure medical activities, documentation, and medical movements.
• Perform medical escort duties when assigned.
• Collaborate with physicians, laboratory personnel, radiology staff, administrative teams, embassies, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain confidentiality of medical information and comply with IOM Standards of Conduct.

Required Experience

• Minimum three years of relevant clinical nursing experience.
• Demonstrated experience in phlebotomy and specimen collection.
• Experience in tuberculosis management, immunization, communicable diseases.
• Experience working in multicultural or international environments is desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Valid nursing license to practice in Egypt.
