UNFPA Driver, LSC - 3, Chisinau

Overview

The Driver performs driving, vehicle maintenance, clerical, and logistics functions to provide reliable and safe driving services for UNFPA Moldova.

Key Responsibilities

• Drives office vehicles for the transport of UN staff, officials, and visitors.
• Delivers and collects mail, documents, and other items.
• Meets official personnel and visitors at the airport, including visa and customs formalities arrangement when required.
• Performs high number of trips in programmatic settings.
• Ensures cost-savings through proper vehicle use and accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs.
• Maintains the assigned vehicle in excellent working conditions, including minor repairs and arrangements for major repairs.
• Ensures availability of all required documents, supplies, and safety equipment in the assigned vehicle.
• Keeps track of insurance and tax formalities.
• Takes necessary steps in case of involvement in an accident.
• Assists office staff in filing, photocopying, and maintaining stores when required.
• Assists in mailing and distribution of newsletters and publications.
• Arranges to pay office telephone and other bills, as required.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Experience

• At least 3 (three) years of driver work experience with a valid driver's license and safe driving record.
• Working experience in international organization, embassy or UN is an asset.
• Certification in defensive driving is an asset.
• Certification in armored vehicle is an asset.
• Experience in driving 4x4 vehicles is an asset.
• Knowledge of communication equipment such as radio, GPS is an asset.
• Knowledge in minor vehicle repairs is an asset.
• Additional working years as a driver is an asset.
• Familiarity with UN procedures, particularly UNFPA policies and frameworks, is an advantage.
• Experience supporting programme or operational activities in humanitarian, development, or social sector environments, including work with UN agencies or international organizations/projects.
• Previous experience working in an international organization or multicultural work environment.

Qualifications

Completed Secondary Level education.
