ICT Analyst - Cloud Services (Open to Tier 0, 1 & 2 applicants)
Overview
Provide technical support for Cloud-based services for UNDP offices and business units globally, ensuring efficient, innovative, and sustainable management of technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the performance of UNDP Cloud platform(s) by attending to incidents and service catalog requests, reviewing and updating internal records, and updating the Cloud platform.
- Support implementation of Cloud Platform(s) oversight controls by ensuring required controls are applied, monitoring and troubleshooting assignments, and reviewing remediation actions.
- Monitor Cloud Platform(s) costs and update budgets by monitoring and updating technical controls for cost management, escalating budget exceptions, and recommending actions based on consumption forecasts.
- Monitor Cloud Platform(s) updates and health notifications by monitoring service health, changes, and updates, and notifying users about health events and upcoming changes.
- Guide and support with audits and assessments of Cloud Platform(s) by performing periodic automated assessments and assisting with audit requests.
- Report on compliance status of Cloud Platform(s) resources by providing periodic reports and participating in service review meetings with vendors.
- Facilitate training and communications with stakeholders on compliance requirements and updates.
- Recommend updates to UNDP ICT Policies, Standards and Procedures as it relates to Cloud Platform(s).
- Facilitate knowledge and capacity building, knowledge sharing and advocacy.
- Identify, synthesize and document best practices and lessons learned.
Required Experience
Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) are required to have a minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in the area of the Public Cloud Infrastructure Operations. Training or experience in the area of the Public Cloud Infrastructure Operations (GCP, AWS, Azure or Oracle Cloud) is required. Desired additional skills and competencies include: Experience and knowledge of computer network and network security technologies and their application in public cloud environment; Prior experience and knowledge of modern web application technologies and their implementation in the public cloud environment; Experience using automation tools and scripting languages; Experience and understanding of modern identity platforms like Azure AD; Understanding of application of cyber security principles, technologies, techniques and processes as they apply to public cloud infrastructure; Demonstrated experience and knowledge of project management methodologies, with ability to multi-task, prioritize workload and meet deadlines; Proven track record of excellent verbal and written communication skills with a positive attitude.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree (Master’s Degree or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline is required. OR A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the areas stated above, in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree.
