PCM Caseworker

Overview

The IRC is seeking Protection Case Workers to support the delivery of Protection Case Management (PCM) services for vulnerable populations. The Case Worker will manage an assigned caseload through the full PCM cycle for individuals facing protection risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Protection Case Management to heightened-risk individuals.
• Identify and register vulnerable individuals.
• Facilitate the full PCM cycle: intake, consent, safety planning, needs assessment, case action planning, referrals, follow-up, and case closure.
• Identify clients eligible for Cash for Protection (CfP) assistance and refer them to IOM.
• Establish quality referrals to specialised services.
• Orient CBPCs, COVs, and service providers on PCM standards and inter-agency referral protocols.
• Maintain accurate case records in the Information Management System.
• Report caseload status to the supervisor.
• Participate in case conferences, reviews, and supervision sessions.
• Support community awareness activities on protection risks, available services, and referral pathways.
• Document and share success stories and lessons learned.
• Perform any other project-related tasks assigned by the supervisor.
• Build and maintain working relationships with district-level partners.

Required Experience

Minimum of 1 to 2 years of field experience in protection case management programming, preferably in emergencies. Ability to work under pressure in an unstable security environment. Able to handle critical information with strict confidentiality. Experience in training, capacity building, and team building of staff.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Psychology, Sociology, International Relations, or equivalent is required.
