Project Associate (Public Health)

Overview

The Project Associate (Public Health) will support the implementation and monitoring of public health projects under the Public Health Unit, ensuring timely and effective project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation and monitoring of public health project activities.
• Retrieve, compile, summarise, analyse, and present information and data on public health projects.
• Monitor budget by verifying fund availability, obtaining approvals, and updating budget information.
• Act as a focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation.
• Draft status reports, identify operational challenges, and suggest remedial actions.
• Draft correspondence on project issues and prepare/update reports, briefing notes, and other documentation.
• Respond to information requests, maintain project files, and support the organisation of meetings and activities.
• Participate in meetings, field visits, and coordination activities with stakeholders.
• Assist in monitoring the work of Implementing Partners and report delays or non-compliances.
• Provide guidance/training to new/junior staff.

Required Experience

• Three years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor’s degree in public health, nursing, health sciences or a related field.
• Five years of relevant professional experience with a High School diploma.
• Experience in implementing, monitoring and reporting on public health or humanitarian programmes.
• Experience supporting public health programmes, including healthcare access, communicable disease programming and community engagement.
• Experience collecting, verifying, compiling and presenting programme data and supporting report preparation.
• Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organisations.
• Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons and other vulnerable groups.
• Prior work experience with international humanitarian organisations, non-government or government institutions/organisation in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, nursing, health sciences or a related field from an accredited academic institution.
• High School diploma.
