Protection Assistant- Child Protection - Case Management
Overview
The Protection Assistant - Child Protection - Case Management will implement child protection case management activities in Tripoli, Libya, to prevent and respond to risks of exploitation, violence, abuse, and harm for children.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement child protection case management in accord with DRC’s Child Protection Policy, DRC Libya specific SoPs and the Child Protection Minimum Standards.
- Participate in trainings, supervision and ongoing coaching.
- Provide direct services including PSS.
- Make, enable and accompany referrals.
- Adhere to roles and responsibilities for child friendly safe spaces and community based mechanisms.
- Conduct activities for the evolution of the Child Protection and overall Protection programme.
- Use participatory approaches with attention to age, gender, diversity, and vulnerability criteria.
- Respect data confidentiality and protection.
- Complete data entry and analysis for case management data management.
- Ensure proper use of tools and online platforms for reporting.
- Collaborate with MEAL teams in carrying out monitoring, evaluation, and feedback activities.
- Represent DRC to a range of stakeholders.
- Collaborate and integrate with other DRC sectors.
- Ensure interactions with beneficiaries and community groups promote safety, agency and dignity.
- Support the coordination of program activities related to logistics, administration, finance, or security.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and directives.
Required Experience
At least 1 year of professional experience in humanitarian interventions, preferably in child protection or a field requiring close work with children. Experience in related fields such as MHPSS and General Protection would also be considered. Experience in child protection case management preferred, experience in other individualized service or community and CFS aspects of CP programming also an advantage.
Qualifications
University Degree in the field of Social Sciences, Sociology, Community Development, Communication, Humanitarian Affairs, or any other related field. An educational background specifically requiring work with children will be preferred.
