Overview

The Director leads and coordinates cross-cutting functions for the Department of Technical Cooperation, focusing on operational strategy, policy development, quality management, and resource mobilization to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the technical cooperation programme.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and guide the development and promotion of operational strategies and policies.
  • Advise the Deputy Director General on strategic and policy issues impacting the TC programme.
  • Oversee and guide the development of approaches, mechanisms, tools and guidelines for the enhancement of the TC operational framework.
  • Coordinate and facilitate programme and project monitoring.
  • Ensure that evaluation and audit results are used to improve TC programme planning and delivery.
  • Responsible for the overall quality of the TC programme.
  • Lead, coordinate and prioritize the development and implementation of communication, resource mobilization, partnership and cooperation strategies.
  • Provide strategic guidance for the overall management of the Technical Cooperation Fund and extrabudgetary resources.
  • Oversee the development and review of existing or innovative approaches to mobilise resources.
  • Promote cooperation with all Departments involved in the TCP.
  • Enhance cooperation and mutual understanding between the secretariat and Member States on TCP related matters.
  • Lead and manage the human and financial resources assigned to the Division.
Required Experience

Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, in international cooperation with extensive programme and resource management experience, out of which at least five years at the senior management or executive level. Experience working in an international setting on technical cooperation and development work, including experience in partnership and resource mobilization.

Qualifications

Advanced degree in international relations, political science, public administration or a related field. First level University Degree with two additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.

Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.

Remuneration
Tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $117953 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), a variable post adjustment which currently amounts to US $ 66408*, dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses; Other benefits include 6 weeks' annual leave, home leave travel, pension plan and health insurance.
