Overview
The National Project Officer (DRR/CCA) will support the operational and coordination activities of the RE2CLID project in Burundi, focusing on disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the coordination and monitoring of operational, administrative, and financial aspects of the project.
- Report on project implementation status, gaps, and challenges, suggesting corrective actions.
- Participate in the development of work plans, budgets, monitoring & evaluation tools, and standard operating procedures.
- Coordinate data collection, verification, and analysis, and maintain information management systems.
- Coordinate the preparation and dissemination of project reports.
- Liaise and coordinate with donors, partners, UN agencies, local authorities, and government counterparts.
- Contribute to the planning, organization, and delivery of capacity building activities.
- Attend relevant conferences, workshops, and meetings, and provide summaries.
- Participate in the preparation of project proposals and communication products.
- Supervise and provide training and technical guidance to project staff.
- Undertake duty travel for project implementation and monitoring.
- Support the integration of gender equality, age, disability inclusion, and protection principles.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Required Experience
- Two years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Environment, Migration, International Relations or related fields.
- Experience in project management or coordination in humanitarian disaster risk reduction, or development contexts.
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations.
- Experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups.
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Environment, Migration, International Relations or related fields from an accredited academic institution.
- Master’s degree in the above-mentioned fields.
