Overview

The HR Intern will assist the Administrative and Personnel Division (APD) HR team with re-designing the HR filing system and providing additional administrative support.


Key Responsibilities
  • Re-design and re-organize the HR filing system, including classifying personnel files, re-organizing hard-copy and soft-copy records, identifying incomplete files, and proposing a filing routine.
  • Provide administrative assistance in recruitment, selection, and onboarding.
  • Draft emails, memos, letters, employment certificates, and letters of appointment.
  • Handle staff queries sent to the generic team email address.
  • Search and compile information for reports, policies, and strategic HR documents.
  • Compile information for the ICJ HR Digest Quarterly and draft newsletter pages.
  • Assist in organizing APD meetings, workshops, and information-sharing sessions.
  • Take meeting minutes and notes.
  • Update and create content for the ICJ APD intranet pages.
  • Perform other related assigned tasks.
Qualifications
  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate programme (bachelor's level or equivalent), in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent) or in a PhD programme, or
  • Have graduated within the past two years.
  • Educational background in business administration, Information Science or Records Management, Library & Documentation, or Office Management and Secretarial Studies, is an added asset.
Other Details
Languages Required
An excellent command of at least one of the Court's official and working languages (English and French) is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of the other language (English or French) shall be considered an added asset.

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
